I get this e-mail about search engines, which I somehow signed up for and I recieved an interesting article about how Adsense has the potential to cause small time affiliates to be crippled by its phenomenal simplicity. Whereas before people had to find the right affilliate to match the content, Adsense just does it for you.
Check out the article here:

I am not commenting on that article . What I can share here and now is my personal opinion - since I had thought about it from day 1 of using AdSense.
I will randomly list my thoughts below:
* For every website that gets into AdSense, there will be 100s if not 1000s more, that will NOT.
* AdSense should boost overall online advertising rates which has so far been pathetic.
* Affiliate Programs like CJ.com and some others will suffer temporary periods of 'quiet' but their 'services' will still be very much in demand in the long term.
* Hardest hit from the arrival of Google's AdSense and Overture's similar-thingy (set to be launched soon) are Ad Networks such as BurstMedia and the other Ad Networks that I can't list here, since they are all banned on these forums! To be honest, I am not sorry to see them fold-up and die a slow death (with the exception of BurstMedia of course).
* Eventually AdSense CTR will be better on non-webmaster related websites only, due to the fact that nearly every webmaster (newbie or old-hand) will either know about or recognise Google AdSense ads from a mile away...
* Sooner or later, everybody and his uncle will recognise the signature Google AdSense ads and banner fatigue will set in. The novelty will end right there... and we will await the next big thing in online advertising - from Google, no doubt!
